Karl SÖRENSON (Ph.D.) is director of research and deputy director of the department for Strategy and Policy at the Swedish Defence Research Agency, FOI. At the agency, Sörenson heads the nuclear weapons analysis programme. Sörenson's dissertation at Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) treated game theoretic application on deterrence. Sörenson also holds a research position at the Swedish Defence University (FHS), Department of naval operations. His research has focused on deterrence, game theory, strategic warning and naval operations.
Sörenson also holds a MA. Philosophy from Sorbonne University, a M.Sc. in Computer and Systems Sciences from Stockholm University. During his time in France Sörenson worked for the Swedish Institute (SI) with culture and French-Swedish relations.
