Sweden during World War II

Thursday 8 May marked 80 years since the end of the Second World War in Europe. In connection with this, SVT has launched the new documentary series Sverige och kriget (Sweden and the War). The series is based on letters, diaries, films and photographs sent in by the Swedish people, and depicts what it was like to live in Sweden during the war years.

On this occasion, we draw attention to the subject with a new exhibition, where we highlight our own material about Sweden during the Second World War. The exhibition includes an original newspaper from the war years, instructions for air raid alarms, photographs and literature from the period.
