The Library’s Mission
The Anna Lindh Library supports the University’s education, research, and collaboration in the fields of defence, crisis management, and security. By providing access to scholarly resources, research support, and publishing guidance, the library helps create the conditions for academic freedom and makes knowledge more accessible.
The library offers an open and accessible learning environment—an inclusive meeting place that encourages reading, reflection, dialogue, and a sense of community. By listening to our users and understanding their needs, we shape our services, digital tools, learning environments, and ways of working to be relevant, easy to use, and valuable in everyday life as well as in times of crisis.
Through teaching and guidance, we support students in developing a reflective and critical approach to information, sources, and information seeking. We also promote liberal education, critical perspectives, and open science in order to meet new ways of learning, conducting research, and sharing knowledge in a changing world.
The Anna Lindh Library is part of the university administration. Our work focuses on five key areas:
- Learning environments
- Teaching academic information literacy
- Support for digital teaching and learning
- Media and information resources
- Research and publishing support
Target Groups
The library serves the University’s students, teachers, researchers, and staff. It also supports students, commissioned course participants, and researchers from other higher education institutions, as well as members of the public with an interest in the library’s subject areas. Particular attention is given to ensuring accessibility for people with disabilities.
