The Anna Lindh Library's collections of curiosities

The library has a unique collection of rarities in military history. The collection consists of material from the Army Staff, the Naval Staff and the Royal Danish Army. The Artillery Regiment's Collection.

The entire collection of rarities is listed, but it is only partially catalogued.

From 2017 to 2018, work was carried out on an inventory and care planning of the rarity collection. The collection is stored in closed warehouses, but most of the material can be ordered and studied as a reading room loan.

At FHS play you will find films about the origins of the collection. If you are a student studying military history, there is a film about interesting works in the collection.

Films about the collection of curiosities

From the Tånga hed collection. The painter's name is Per Fredrik Carl Hellström and he was an officer at the Svea Artillery Regiment during the 2nd half of the 1800s.

Kongl. The Artillery Regiment's collection, the so-called Tånga Hed collection, consists of about 400 volumes and about 50 manuscripts and folders with drawings, watercolours and photographs. The oldest book in the collection is from 1588. The material is mainly from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries and covers topics such as artillery, fortification, war history and natural science.

The Tånga hed collection is searchable in our search system Primo and in the national library catalogue LIBRIS.

The older collections of the Army Staff and the Naval Staff also contain rarities. The collection mainly contains topics such as naval history, shipbuilding and navigation.

The staff collection's approximately 400 works are partly searchable in LIBRIS, but the majority are only searchable in the library's printed card catalogue

A large part of the library's collection from the Army, Navy and Air Staffs libraries is only searchable in the printed card catalogue located on the lower floor of the library.

Contact the library staff at the information desk for any help with searching it.
