Welcome to the Anna Lindh Library! Here we have gathered information that may be good for you to know as a new student.

Library opening hours

The main library is accessible with an access card from 06:00 to 22:00.

The library in Fältskären, Karlberg is available to students Mon-Fri 06.00 - 22.00. On weekends, permission is needed from the guard at Karlberg.

You can also get support and help via our digital services (zoom, chat and alb@fhs.se) and on site in the library.

Access to the wireless network (Wifi) is available through the online service Eduroam.

As a student, you can access the library's e-resources on your own computer via Eduroam and remotely. The login is the same as you have for your FHS account.

Respect the license terms of the electronic material. Printing and downloading of articles may only be done for personal use, for study or research purposes.

In the library there is copier/printer available for students and staff.

You can also access the printer from a private computer via the wireless network Eduroam. To use the printer, you need your access card to the Swedish Defence University. As a student at the Swedish Defence University, you also receive 250 free printouts at the start of each semester.

The Anna Lindh Library has four bookable group study rooms. The group rooms are only for group work by students at the Swedish Defence University.

  • You can book up to two sessions per day and use a maximum of four hours (240 minutes) per day.
  • You can make five bookings up to 14 days ahead.

As a student at the Swedish Defence University, you can take part in guidance in study strategies and writing through Stockholm University's Study and Language Workshop.

The Academic Writing Service

If you have reading and writing disabilities, such as dyslexia, visual impairment or other, you are entitled to adapted course literature in the form of talking books, Braille or e-text.

Studying with disabilities

The loan period for general literature is 28 days.

For the course literature that is taught on the "Civil" programs/courses, 10-day loans apply.

In My loans you can extend your loans a maximum of 6 times , provided that the book is not reserved by anyone else.

The course literature for the Officer Programme at Karlberg can be borrowed for 70 days + 1 re-loan (28 days) by OP students only.

The course literature for the High Officer Programme in the Teaching Materials Centre can be borrowed for 180 days by HOP students only.

Students on the Officer Programme have access to a library branch at Karlberg. The branch is staffed four days a week, but you can borrow and return with self-service.

Here you will find all of the fysical books needed for your courses at the OP programme. E-resources can be found thru the library search box Primo.

The Teaching Materials Centre (LMC) for printed course literature for the OP programme is located in Fältskären in Karlberg, while the LMC for HOP is located at the Swedish Defence University. They are usually unmanned and you have access to the learning material centres with your access card.

The loan period for OP is 10 weeks.

You borrow from the machines yourself with your library card or social security number and your four-digit code. You can change your four-digit PIN code yourself via My loans.

You can only borrow one copy of each title. The loans are personal, so you cannot exchange books with anyone else.
