Crown Princess Victoria begins officer training together with the Officers Programme
The new cadets in the Officers' Programme (OP) were welcomed by the programme management on 16 August. It is also particularly pleasing that Crown Princess Victoria is starting the special officer training (SOFU), which is partly carried out together with OP.
The officer programme is the largest activity at the Swedish Defence University in terms of number of students and participants. The specialisations of the officer programme are:
- Specialisation in War Studies
- Naval science (formerly nautical) and
- Military technical specialisation.
At OP 24-27, a total of 355 cadets and participants in contract training are studying, divided into 298 cadets and 57 participants in contract training within Officer Training for Pilots, OUP, and Special Officer Training, SOFU.

Parts of the training are carried out at the Swedish Defence University on behalf of the Swedish Armed Forces. The Crown Princess will study naval warfare science training.
The training is part of The Crown Princess's efforts to continuously broaden her knowledge for her future assignment as head of state.
