Take the opportunity to go on an Erasmus exchange while studying here

Rebecca and Elin are studying on the international Master’s programme in Politics, Security and Crisis. They chose to spend part of their studies on an Erasmus exchange at Sciences Po in Paris and describe it as a fantastic opportunity.

Why would you recommend an Erasmus exchange to other students?

"It is an incredible opportunity to take courses in subjects you might not otherwise have studied. Sciences Po offers a wide and varied range of courses. For example, we took courses on human rights in Latin America, environmental policy and India’s foreign policy. It is also a great way to experience living in a new city while having the opportunity to travel to other parts of the country.

What positive experiences will you take away from your exchange?

"The best part of the exchange was meeting people from all over the world, both other exchange students and French students. It was also wonderful to experience French culture! Paris has so many excellent museums, cosy restaurants and great bars.

Was there anything difficult or less positive that you would like to share?

"One thing worth mentioning about Sciences Po in particular is that course registration operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and French students are also given priority. This made it difficult to get places on exactly the courses we had selected in advance. In the end, however, we were both happy with the courses we took.

Tell us about the most memorable experience during your exchange.

"Sciences Po hosted guest speakers every week, including representatives from the UN and the EU. Among our favourite events were a visit by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who spoke at the university about the war in Ukraine, and a visit by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, who spoke about the Greenland crisis.
