Registration

Registration is compulsory, and is required in order for you to keep your place, and to ensure that your studies can be documented.

Upcoming registration periods

  • Spring semester 2026: 20-26 April, depending on when the course starts.
  • Autumn semester 2026: 17-23 August

Students without Swedish Bank ID

You will be registered and notified by the International Office during the registration period. For assistance email masterprogramme@fhs.se

Students with Swedish Bank ID

  1. Go to student.ladok.se and click "Choose university".
  2. If you do not already have an active student account at the Swedish Defence University, choose "www.universityadmissions.se". (If you already have an active student account, select the Swedish Defence University, and use the student account to log in. (Carry on to point 5).
  3. Click "Proceed to login".
  4. Enter your personal ID number and password (the same as you use on www.universityadmissions.se).
  5. Select the Swedish Defence University in the list of universities.
  6. Before completing the registration, make sure that you have provided a valid email adress in Ladok. The email adress registered in Ladok is where you will receive login details for your student account. You should also enter a valid phone number in Ladok if the Swedish Defence University should need to contact you by telephone in the event of a security incident or crisis.
  7. To complete the registration, find the list below "Current education" and "Upcoming". There, you will see the courses and programmes you have been admitted to. Click "Register", and confirm by clicking "Register me". When the course or programme appears on the list under "Current", registration has been completed.

Note: It is important that you give a valid e-mail address when registering in Ladok so that you can obtain a student account.

If you are studying a bachelor’s or master's programme, you must register before the course start for each new semester.

The following registration times apply for free-standing courses and program courses starting spring semester 2026;

  • For courses that start in week 4-14, registration is open from 5 January to 11 January. For those admitted to an internship- or thesis course with entry requirements that cannot be fulfilled at the start of the semester, the registration is open until 31 January.
  • For free-standing courses starting from week 19 onwards, registration is open from 20 April to 26 April.

This is what you do:

  1. Go to student.ladok.se and click "Select university for log in".
  2. Select the Swedish Defence University and use your FHS account to log in.
  3. Select the Swedish Defence University in the list of universities.
  4. Under "Current education" and "Upcoming" lists you will see the courses and programmes you have been admitted to. Click "Register" and confirm by clicking "Register me". When the course or programme is shown on the list under "Current", registration is complete.
  5. Check that your contact information (e-mail and phone number) in Ladok is updated.

If you wish to continue on a course or programme that you have previously registered for however, have not completed, you need to apply for re-registration. This pertains to, for example, as mentioned above after non-completion of a course or programme..

To apply for re-registration, contact the course or programme administrator at the relevant department. Re-registration is subject to space and resources.

Registration and Ladok

All students in higher education in Sweden must be registered in Ladok on the course or programme the student has been admitted to. Registration in Ladok is a prerequisite for the student's grades to be reported in Ladok.
