The SEDU:s Medal of Merit

The Swedish Defence University's Medal of Merit is awarded to recognise people who have made extraordinary contributions to the university. The medal is available in two denominations, gold and silver.

The purpose of the Medals of Merit is to draw attention to extraordinary contributions to the development of the Swedish Defence University, or to society in a broad sense within the university's area of activity – defence, crisis management and security.

The medal can be awarded to both external persons and employees. If a medal is awarded to a person who is or has been employed at the university, his or her contribution must be significantly in addition to what can be considered to be included in duties within the framework of the employment.

Decisions on the awarding of medals of merit are made on one occasion per year.
