On 21 May, the Research School for War and Defence invites doctoral students and soldier-scholars to a panel on Soldier-Scholars in the 21st Century.

Soldier-scholars are becoming an increasingly common phenomenon in Western militaries. What are the advantages they offer to their own militaries and to those of the allies and partners? What do they offer to academe? Join us to find answers to these and other questions relevant to the current and future military effectiveness of NATO forces.

The panel includes soldier-scholars from several countries, who will initiate a conversation about what it means to be a soldier-scholar in the 21st century.
The panel is followed by post-panel drinks in the officer’s mess.
