Soldier-Scholar Conference

The Research School for War and Defence organises an annual conference. This is the main event of the research school.

The core objective of the conference is to promote research relevant for professional military practices (such as warfighting, strategy and tactics, military organisation and profession, military leadership, military technology and defence planning), and to foster a strong international network of soldier-scholars.

The conference is mandatory for the doctoral students and provides an opportunity to present their research for other military doctoral students, soldier-scholars, member institutions and the armed forces. The conference also offers workshops and activities for supervisors.
