Graduation Ceremony
The Swedish Defence University graduation ceremony for civilian students is for those who have applied for and received a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Magister degree from the Swedish Defence University.
Graduation Ceremonies 2026 – important dates
- Graduation ceremonies: 21, 22 and 23 October 2026. Exact times will be decided when the number of registered guests is clear, ASAP after registration period ends. As far as possible, ceremonies for international Master’s and Magister degrees will be held on Friday 23 October.
The earliest ceremony will start at 15:00. - Registration period: 20 June – 15 September
- Digital invitations will be sent from examensceremoni@fhs.se:
- 20 June to all students who received their degree between 15 September 2025 and 15 June 2026.
- 4 September to all students who received their degree between 16 June and 31 August 2026.
Please note that invitations are only sent after you have officially received your degree. However, if you plan to attend, we recommend that you save the ceremony dates in your calendar well in advance.
Two guest places
All graduates who have received their degree and register in time for the graduation ceremonies, will be offered a place and may invite two guests.
To make sure as many people as possible can attend, we will hold 2–3 ceremonies on 22 and 23 October, and if needed, an additional ceremony on 21 October. Exact dates and times for different degree groups will only be confirmed after the registration period has ended. As far as possible, ceremonies for international Master’s and Magister degrees will be held on Friday 23 October.
Ceremony and reception
The ceremony will take place in Sverigesalen and will include speeches from teachers and graduates, presentation of diplomas, and music. Please note that the diploma has no legal status.
After the ceremony, all guests are invited to a reception at Mässen.
